Obalende defeated Babalola market 3-0 in the third place match played shortly before the final. Earlier in the day, Sandgrose had defeated Babalola 2-1 in the first semifinal while Obalende lost to Ilasamaja 2-1 in the other semifinal. For finishing as first runners up, Ilasamaja walked home with a trophy and cash prize of 700, 000. Obalende also got 400, 000 and a trophy for their efforts
Individual awards were given out to the highest goalscorer, MVP and best goalkeeper of the tournament.
MTN brand and superstars Sean Tizzle and Sound Sultan thrilled the full capacity stadium with their hit songs. The raffle draw was also a high point of the day as generators, laptops, tabs, ipods, fans, lamps and other prizes were won by some lucky fans. Paul Affa emerged the luckiest fan of the day as he won the grand prize of an all expense paid trip to Brazil.
Dignitaries that graced the occasion include legendary Super Eagles goalkeeper, Peter Rufai, Olubayo Adekambi, GM, Marketing and Business Intelligence, MTN, Osaze Ebueku, Manager, Strategy and Marketing, MTN among other senior MTN officials. CEO, Global Media and veteran sports journalist Godwin Enekhena was also present as was Bode Oguntuyi, Director, Sports Vision and Sola Aiyepeku, CEO of SNT Selsports, organizers of the event.
