Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala Speaks on #BringBackOurGirls

Nigeria’s Finance Minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala recently spoke to an ABC News reporter on #BringOurGirlsBack

While the minister was clearly exasperated by the unscheduled interview as she stepped out of a session at the World Economic Forum in Abuja and mentioned being tired of the ‘Same Story”, she did make it clear that the Nigerian government is fully committed and putting every effort into finding the girls including the creation of a crisis centre , Safe Schools Initiative, aerial surveillance and more.

In addition, she empathized that “terror will win when you divide”. She mentioned that Boko Haram attempted to stop the WEF from taking place in Abuja but didn’t succeed, therefore “Terror has lost”. She also commended world leaders for attending the WEF in Abuja despite the threats. In the end, politely excuses herself, she walks away and directs the reporter to the Minister of Defense.
