Centenary Anniversary Broadcast by President Jonathan

This is the national broadcast by Pres. Jonathan on the occasion of Nigeria’s Centenary Celebrations today Wednesday, 26^th February, 2014. Read his full speech below

1. I extend warm greetings and felicitations to all Nigerians as we celebrate our nation’s centenary; a significant milestone in our journey to Nationhood.

Praiz raises N10m for baby with hole in the heart

Soul singer Praiz raised N10million for a little girl with a hole in the heart, Somaya Olayinka Dahli. Somaya had a successful surgery late last year to close the hole in her heart, but needed money for post-surgery care.

Praiz offered 100% of his one-month revenue from the sales of his callertune, Oshe, to the little girl. The money was presented to the girl and her parents two weeks ago.
Awwww...... this is touchy. God will forever reward and bless you Praiz.

Sanusi’s Suspension: APC Accuses Jonathan Of Destroying Nigerian Institutions

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said Thursday’s suspension of Malam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) by President Goodluck Jonathan is patently illegal, poorly thought-out and in bad taste, noting that it will definitely have negative consequences for the nation’s economy.

In a statement issued in Lagos on Thursday by its Interim National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party also said the action is the clearest indication yet that President Jonathan, whose body language does not abhor corruption, is willing to silence any whistle-blower, no matter his or her status.

In an interview with CNBC Africa this morning, Sansui Lamido Sanusi, who currently in Niger Republic attending an official ECOWAS event, says he will challenge his suspension.

The only son of popular sports correspondent on AIT and CAF Media Committee member Aisha Falode, Toba Falode has died. Toba, known professionally as Tyler Fray Faloda died over the weekend in a fatal car accident.
The late budding musician and rapper was a student of a University in Dubai.
May his gentle soul rest in peace. Amen.

Kelly Rowland was recently in Nigeria for the Love Like A Movie concert which was put together by Darey.

While she was in the country, Kelly Rowland linked up with Radio personality Tosyn Bucknor on her Top Of The Morning show, and amongst other things gave her a few lessons in yoruba.

I will call him Sochukwuma. A thin, smiling boy who liked to play with us girls at the university primary school in Nsukka. We were young. We knew he was different, we said, ‘he’s not like the other boys.’ But his was a benign and unquestioned difference; it was simply what it was. We did not have a name for him. We did not know the word ‘gay.’ He was Sochukwuma and he was friendly and he played oga so well that his side always won.

On December 18th 2013, BBA winner and actress Karen Igho announced that she had cancer. She left Nigeria shortly afterwards to the UK for treatment. She took to twitter this afternoon to announce that she's cancer free.
Thanks be to God for her.

The event that took place at “The Place” Lekki, Lagos on the 14th February, had Solid Star, Tiwa Savage, GT Tha Guitarman, Yemi Alade, Emma Nyra, Olamide and Phyno as performing acts with DO2daTUN of Cool FM and Gbemi of Beat FM as hosts.

The Port Harcourt leg was held on Sunday 16th of February at Eddiz wine bar and hosted by comedian, Arinzebaba with Phyno and Solid Star headlining as well as some local acts.

Pictures: Sand truck tumbles over bridge onto Express Lane In Lagos

A truck conveying sand around 2am today February 6th tumbled from the bridge in Maryland Lagos onto the express lane below. The truck, which has since been removed by traffic and emergency officials veered off its lane and crashed through section of the culvert and fell onto the express lane.

Fortunately no one was injured in the accident.

Karrueche Supports Chris Brown in Court As He Escapes Jail Time

Chris Brown appeared in court yesterday with his 'ride or die' chick, Karrueche Tran, who supported him as he faced a judge regarding his arrest for battery in Washington, D.C. The singer avoided jail time at a hearing.

Flavour surprised the students of his alma mata –College of Immaculate Conception, Enugu (popularly known as CIC) by showing up unannounced during assembly.

The visit was courtesy of his NGO – Flavour Foundation. You can’t help but like Flavour for this gesture.

The lovely Dakore Akande and husband have welcomed their new baby into the world. A second child for the couple, Dakore and Olu already have a two year old daughter.

The actress shared the news on her instagram page :

Halima Abubakar's New Ride

A few months after acquiring a 2011 Chrysler Convertible Halima Abubakar has bought herself another car. The actress, who is currently in New York on holiday, showed off a red Nissan convertible on her instagram page yesterday and wrote what you see below

Isaac Anya Ojiabo Jr. has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of his mother, Joy Ojiabo, who was found beaten and stabbed to death at their million dollar home in Forest Hill, Maryland.

When police arrived at the home of 51 year old Joy Ojiabo around 5pm on Wednesday Jan. 29th, they found her suffering from multiple injuries, "to include a large, wooden handled knife protruding from her chest.". She was pronounced dead 20 minutes later.

Isaac Ojiabo Snr, the deceased's husband who called the police said Isaac Jr., had escaped with his mother's Lexus SUV after the stabbing.
