A Canoe loaded with 21 people capsized in FESTAC and only 3 people survived. The boat was crossing people from 6th avenue to 4th avenue.
According to an eye witness the boat was overloaded because people were much waiting to go out/their home and the boat was mostly consisted of children.
So painful that the government cannot build a common ordinary bridge there. Not that the water is too long.
Come and see how they are bringing out people from the canal.
It happened around 7pm yesterday 11th march, the local government chairman of Amuwo Odofin was present and the area boys acted as rescue team, no professional was around as calls to the organisations in charge of emergencies didn't pick up their calls, only one woman out of the people rescued showed a sign of life.
